Scholarship
The DIVERSIFY Scholarship aims to encourage diversity within the Music and Audio industries and support those interested in furthering their knowledge through tertiary education. Two scholarships are awarded to 2 female, non-binary, or gender non-conforming students, applying to study either:
- Diploma in Audio Production at SAE Auckland or
- Bachelor of Audio Production at SAE Auckland
- Diploma in Electronic Music Production at SAE Auckland or
- Bachelor of Music Production at SAE Auckland
2 x DIVERSIFY Scholarships to the value of $3000 each that is used toward tuition fees to study at SAE Auckland.
In order to apply, an applicant must Identify as Female, Non-Binary, or Gender Non-Conforming and are undertaking full-time study at SAE Auckland.
To Apply
In order to apply, students must write a short paragraph (where outlined on their SAE application form), explaining what contribution they intend to make in order to continue the advancement of female, non-binary, or gender non-conforming representation in the Music/Audio industry as well as past or current achievements in the music and audio space.
Scholarship recipients are selected by 5 current staff, including the SAE Auckland Campus Director and SAE Auckland Student Recruitment Advisor on the basis of the significance of the proposed contribution to the ongoing growth of female, non-binary, or gender non-conforming representation in the Music or Audio industries. Members of the SAE Auckland Academic Board and/or Creative Industries Advisory Committee may also be invited onto the selection panel.
Terms & Conditions for the SAE Scholarship
- Two $3000 Scholarships to be awarded.
- A recipient is only able to receive one SAE scholarship.
- The scholarship cannot be gifted to another person.
- The Scholarship cannot be redeemed for cash.
- The SAE Scholarship can be applied to the SAE Auckland Diploma in Audio Production, Bachelor of Audio Production, Diploma in Electronic Music Production, or Bachelor of Music Production
- Only domestic students are eligible
- The Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with the Fees Free scheme. If a student is eligible for Fees Free, the Scholarship can be redeemed in their 2nd year of study.
- The Scholarship does not guarantee entry into a specific intake, programme or level. Application must be submitted as per SAE’s entry criteria. The SAE Scholarship will only be awarded after the application has been approved.
- The Scholarship is for study at the Auckland SAE campus only.
- A 2 year time limit is applied for redemption of the SAE Scholarship.
- The winner of the SAE Scholarship will be announced by 1 November for the following year’s intake. The successful recipients will be contacted by no later than 7 November.
- The successful recipients must be available for media coverage including being profiled on SAE social media.
